We spent a beautiful day in St. Louis shooting this romantic film in multiple locations, including The Boathouse in Forest Park and The London Tea Room. Evening shots along Washington Ave and the Downtown St. Louis landscape also provided the dramatic backdrop needed to highlight this fantastic couple’s romantic flair.

In addition, we had the pleasure of working with Von from Von Devore photographythroughout the day. You see her working her magic in a few of the clips we used for the engagement film. See you at the wedding, Von!

Weddings have a history of style, etiquette and tradition unlike almost anything else in our society. These things can vary quite a bit based on cultural backgrounds, religious beliefs, family traditions, etc. All of this considered, one thing I’ve noticed that has become increasingly important to Exousia brides is that their events reflect their own personal style and tastes.

On May 30, 2010 we drove to White Hall, IL to videotape Jimmy and Aleisha’s big day (couple pictured above- LOVE the retro/classic birdcage veil =0). From the moment we walked through the doors of The Green Gables Inn, we knew the day was going to be a treat. This choice of venue for their preparation and reception had a classic, old world charm that suited Jimmy and Aleisha perfectly and was definitely outside of the traditional hall reception setting.

Earlier in the year, Exousia couple Christine and Owen hosted their reception at The 9th Street Abbey and chose to totally opt out of the traditional wedding cake. Instead, their guests were treated to wedding pie in various flavors by Patty Long Catering; each table had its own individual pie to slice and enjoy! This broke totally from tradition and it was fun watching guests circle the room and taste the flavors at each table….it definitely made for a great conversation piece (of pie that is ;0).

These are small examples of couples daring to be different, but hopefully it’s enough to give you food for thought. Consult with your wedding planner and work together to develop your ideal wedding vision. Incorporate your personality and don’t be afraid to step outside of the box to make your wedding day unique and perfect for you!
